Memorial Day has become virtually synonymous with pool parties, barbecues, retail sales events and spending time with friends and family.  However, the heart of the Memorial Day celebration is one of solemnity.  A time for us to honor and observe the cost of freedom -bought and paid for by the men and women who have died in the U.S. Armed Services.  A time to honor all those who “don’t show up” to the celebrations we so enjoy.  We are humbled by their sacrifice and owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.
